Best ways to spend Ramadan and earn maximum hasanat
Ramadan, the blessed month of fasting and spiritual reflection, provides a unique opportunity for Muslims to earn abundant rewards and seek closeness to Allah. Many of us struggle to make time in our schedules for maximum worship in Ramadan. Being busy with work and family can leave a person feeling disappointed for not finding enough time to develop spiritually. However, there are many easy and simple acts that we can do throughout the day, even at work, that will allow us to reap major rewards no matter how busy we are.
Renewing intentions is the main essence of acts of worship. Additionally, the state of mindfulness of the intentions behind actions is the essence of taqwa (God-consciousness) which we are supposed to develop in Ramadan. if you take steps to increase taqwa in Ramadan, then this will be a great step towards your overall development as a human being. So, make sure to remain conscious and renew your intentions. You will get the rewards of what you intended, so make your intentions sincere and beautiful, as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) says: “Verily actions are by intentions, and for every person is what he intended.” [Sahih al Bukhari]
One of the highly rewarded and most recommended acts by the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is feeding people. The reward of feeding people in Ramadan is greater. The verses and hadiths that encourage feeding people are plenty. For example, the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: A man asked Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), “Which act in Islam is the best?” He (ﷺ) replied, “To feed (the poor and the needy) and to greet those whom you know and those you do not know.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].
This is a beautiful sunnah to follow. It is an act of worship wherein by serving others, you get nourished. It increases humility and selflessness and softens one’s heart.
One of the most highly rewarding acts one can do is to engage in the remembrance of Allah (glorified and exalted be He). Even though it’s effortless, but it shows sincerity, mindfulness and desire to remain in connection with Allah (glorified and exalted be He). Engaging in the remembrance of Allah, known as Dhikr, is a powerful and transformative practice that can elevate our spiritual journey during this sacred month. In this blog, we will explore the significance of Dhikr and discuss how it can be one of the best ways to spend Ramadan. Moreover, Ramadan is known as the month of the Quran, and its recitation and reflection hold great rewards. Dedicate time each day to recite and contemplate the Quran, pondering over its meanings and lessons.
The act of giving is an act that is greatly rewarded by Allah (SWT) and is encouraged during the Holy month of Ramadan. If the rewards and blessings of giving in this month are so great, can you imagine what the rewards for giving on the night of Laylatul Qadr will be like? Whether you choose to help someone by donating your time or contributing money, giving towards Sadaqah Jariyah on behalf of a deceased loved one, or donating your Zakat, ensure you give as much as possible on this revered night. Even the smallest act of giving someone a glass of water or smiling at another being is a great act of charity in Islam.
To sum up, Ramadan is a precious opportunity for Muslims to earn abundant Hasanat and draw closer to Allah. By approaching this month with intention, sincerity, and planning, we can make the most of its blessings.
