Tajweed Learning Plan

Tajweed Curriculum

In The Name of Allah, and may the blessings and peace of Allah be upon the most honored of creation our master Muhammad and upon all his family and companions.

Here, we are keen to divide Tajweed curriculum into four stages, as following:

  • First Stage
  • Second Stage
  • Third Stage
  • Fourth Stage (Ijaazah)

01. First Stage:

Introduction to the first stage:

This stage is for the student who don’t know how to read, or just knows the letters.

The book from which the student is going to study:

Al-Qaidah An-Noraniah

Number of hours:

Expected number of hours for this level is 25 hours.

# Aims of this level
After completing this level, the student is expected to be able to:
01 Recognize all the letters and how to pronounce them correctly
02 Reading from the Quran
03 Differentiate between similar letters
04 Differentiate between the vowels

02. Second Stage:

Introduction to this level:

The student does not move to this stage until he completes the first stage.

The book of this level:

The student studies from Rania Habib’ book, Easy Tajweed.

The student studies the following in this book:

  • Arabic Alphabet letters
  • Tafkheem and Tarqeeq.
  • Articulation points of letters
  • The Qualities
  • Noon and Meem Mushadadah
  • Rules of Noon sakinah
  • Rules of Meem sakinah
  • Rules of Madd
  • Rules of Laam sakinah
  • Hamzat Alwasl
  • Signs of stopping

Expected number of hours for studying this book:

If the student is going to study for an hour, from which half an hour for Tajweed, he will take 12 hours.

Meanwhile, if the student is going to study for half an hour, from which 15 minutes for Tajweed, he will take 24 hours inshallah.

# Aims of this level
After completing this level, the student is going to be able to:
01 Read from the Quran Properly
02 To be fully capable to apply the rules in reading

03. Third Stage:

Introduction to this stage:

In this stage, the student is going to study advanced level of Tajweed, and to study Tajweed more deeply.

The book of this stage:

Tajweed Rules, part 1 & 2

Expected number of hours for studying the book:

30 hours for the student who is going to study for half an hour.

# Aims of this level
After completing this stage, the student is going to be able to:
01 Recognize articulation points of the letters, and pronounce the letters correctly without mistakes
02 Recognize the rules of seeking refuge and saying the Basmalah (Al-Isti’adha Wal Basmalah)
03 Recognize the rest of the rules (the lengthenings – At-Tanween)

04. Fourth Stage:

Introduction to the stage:

In this stage, the student finishes the remaining advanced rules of Tajweed of the stop and the start (Al-Waqf wa Al-Ibtidaa’), the connecting Hamza (Hamzat Al-Wasl), Hamzat An-Nabr, the two sakin letters meeting (iltiqaa’ As-sakinayn), and the mistakes and how to correct them.

At the end of this stage, the student is going to be able to read the Qur’an precisely, and to avoid many mistakes as well as correcting them.
